Welcome to Family Reunion Ideas!
When it comes to planning family reunions, the biggest challenge faced by many when organizing such an event is where it is going to take place. Depending on the size of your family, you may be able to hold it at your own home. But if you have, quite a large and extended family then it might be more advisable to arrange for it to be held at a hotel or resort instead.
In this article, we take a look at some other factors that need to be taken into consideration when trying to plan the perfect family reunion. By keeping these in mind you should then be able to organize such an event without putting too much unwanted stress or pressure on yourself.
The first thing you need to decide upon before you actually start preparing and organizing the location for your reunion is make a list of who you wish to come. When preparing the list it is best to start out with your own parents and close family members (brothers and sisters), then work your way up the family tree. But be warned do not go over the top or you may find yourself in a situation where you do not know actually who everybody is.
After you have got together your list of potential guests, you need to start contacting them to see if they are willing to attend such an event. Certainly, your close family relatives are likely to want to be there, but you may find that some of your more distant relations are not too keen.
Once you know the kinds of numbers of people who are likely to want to attend the reunion you can then start looking at the right kind of location for the event. Certainly if you are holding a large reunion then it is best to opt for a location that is central to where everyone lives and a place that they can easily get to.
However, it is only a small family reunion then you may well find you have the facilities to actually hold the event at your own home. But again you need to make sure that it is somewhere that all those you invite can easily get to and if need to is located close to somewhere that they can stay.
The great thing about holding the event at your own home rather than at hotel or resort is the cost. Remember you need to factor in the costs of renting the rooms along with the costs for food etc. If you do it at home you also need to make sure that you have plenty of activities for everybody to participate in whilst they attend.
Remember if you are holding a family reunion where you are inviting a large number of people you need to provide them with plenty of advance warning. By doing this you actually give them plenty of time to arrange to take time off from work etc., if they need to, as well as save up the money to attend such an event.
So when it comes to planning family reunions as mentioned there are several factors, which need to be taken into consideration. If you keep in mind, the ones we have mentioned above then actually planning your own family reunion will not be as difficult as you first imagined. Plus, do not forget to get other members of your family involved in organizing the event as well.
Family Reunion Tip #1
A great idea for making much more personal nametags for your family reunion is to ask each family member to send in a passport size photo of themselves with their reply. Then as each one arrives, stick this on to some card and then arrange to have each one laminated after their names have been included on them.
Family Reunion Tip #2
It is best that you choose a date well in to the future. This will in turn then give all of those you invite to the reunion plenty of time to plan and organize any time they need to take off or out of their busy schedules.
Family Reunion Tip #3
When it comes to choosing the right family reunion theme it should be the one that most people will enjoy participating in. So another way of ensuring that you have chosen the right theme is by getting those invited to vote on the one that they like the best. Then inform the rest of what the majority have voted for and base your reunion around this particular theme.
